1-Where do I park?
There is plenty of room at the parking garages within a block of the event to the east and west on Central Avenue, in addition to on-street parking on the immediately surrounding city streets.
2-Can I bring a cooler?
Sorry, no coolers allowed. The Breakfast Optimist Club sells water, soft drinks and beer and wine. Several restaurants and bars immediately face the street on the event and they are open for business also. In addition, the City of St. Petersburg has a local ordinance making it unlawful for any person to consume, or to possess in an open container, any alcoholic beverage on any public right-of-way, including streets, sidewalks and alleys. The “Get Downton,” Street closure event is issued a permit, and granted an exemption by the Police Department, specifically for the closed portion of the roadway and the adjacent public right-of-way. The ordinance remains in effect for all other areas outside of the street closure.
3-Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed. Since service animals are not pets. Service animals are the only exception.
4-Is there seating available?
Due to the street closure environment there is none provided, but you are permitted to bring your own folding chair.

7-Can I ride my bicycle to the event?
Yes, but for safety reasons they are not permitted inside the fenced area. Bike racks are located at the site to provide a place to park and lock your bike.
8-What about motorcycles?
The same street and garage parking spots are available for motorcycles. Due to space limitations there is no special motorcycle area in which to park.
9-Since this is a street event with vendors, can I set up or hand out or promote my business or cause at the event?
Not unless you contract with the Breakfast Optimist Club in advance. All vendors are approved and pay in advance for the opportunity to be present.
10-Is there security or a first aid station on hand?
The St. Petersburg Police Department provides officers. First aid needs are not provided and would be handled via Fire Rescue or 911.
11-Are restroom facilities available?
Restaurants’’ facilities are for their patrons only. Port-o-lets are located on site for free admission patrons’ use.
12-Is the location wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The sidewalks have ramps to the street level and there is a wheelchair-accessible port-o-let on site.
